Today I wanted to share with you a beautiful area I discovered a few months ago. I was looking back at some pics and I couldn't resist putting this up on the blog as well.

This is the view from Sangmyung University in South Korea. It was a late afternoon and I wanted to capture the "golden" sunlight as I saw it that day. I took a panorama shot and stitched it together using Microsoft Image composite editor (ICE). It's free software and has pretty cool features when it comes to stitching. You can even create a panorama from a video clip (only on Win7).

Because of limited resources at the moment I had to find a program to edit the photo the way I would like it to be seen. I used PicMonkey's online editor. It is quite a powerful tool when you need to edit on the go.

With this picture I wanted to show the golden sunlight of the late afternoon, so I enhanced the temperature a little, as well as giving a little brightness and darkening the shadows a little to bring out a little contrast.

Donkeys have been around for a very long time. For as long as people have needed to haul something around, a pack animal or a mode of transport, the donkey has been there. The donkey is usually associated with being a stubborn animal and assumed to be unintelligent, but in fact they are proved to be quite intelligent, cautious, friendly, playful, and eager to learn.

Once they gain the trust of a person, they can be great companions and dependable workers.

No wonder they are still being used in today's day and age in most underdeveloped areas. Here are some pictures of a donkey from my rural area in South africa, being used to pull a cart with passengers and their goods.

This is the last picture of my 2 week challenge. I found this beautiful antique sitting on display at the Korean Film Archive. It was a device to create a form of animation. The strips are put inside and then it can be spinned. Looking through from the side, you should see the animation happening.

Pretty nifty little antique.

Building 63 in Korea was the tallest building outside North America when it opened in July 1985. The building officially has 63 floors, a few are restricted. The building's gold-cladded structure is still a very familiar sight in Seoul and stands out proud next to the Han-River.

So for my 11th day I'd like to show you a picture from my perspective.

My theme for day 9 is posing. I thought it was a fitting theme, seeing as we were our way to an exhibition of Annie Leibovitz. My friend playfully posed against a rustic wall and I captured that moment like this. I thought it she looked really beautiful, with all of her clothes matching the colors on the wall.

The pollution in Korea in the winter sucks a lot. I thought that I'd show you a glimpse of what it's like on a cold day when the pollution from China is blowing over. This is in Gwanghwamun, Seoul. You can barely make out the the shape of the mountain in the back. The palace gate is also barely visible.

Because of this, I changed my plans for that day. I wanted to go out to another palace to take some pictures, but I decided against it, a day without sunshine and color would not be great for taking pictures.

Riding on the subway in Korea is one of my favorite things to do. I certainly prefer it to riding the bus and taxi's, simply because it's cheap and doesn't give me motion sickness. So it's always a win for me.

Every so often you'll find an opportunity to see Koreans in their natural state, busy on their smartphones. It has become a popular pass time on the trains and everyone keeps to themselves. It makes you wonder what everyone did before a smartphone came out. It must have been a party on the public transport.

Here is Day 6. Hope it gives you a glimpse of what the atmosphere is most of the time.

For this theme I decided to visit Yeouido in Seoul. There you can find the iconic Building 63 and the beautiful IFC buildings.

Although I could have put another picture here that shows the entire building, I decided to do the bottom's up view. I found this picture very mesmerizing and made me want to lie on the ground and just look up at the sky all day.

I will do another blog post showing more of the buildings, but for today's challenge I like to show you this picture.

This weekend I got the chance to experience my first ever movie set. It was the set of an Afrikaans movie called “Pretville”. “Pret” means “Fun” in English, so basically it’s “Funville”.

This Afrikaans musical is set back in the 1950s, in a generic Afrikaans dorp. In this small, bright and vibrant town of Pretville, anything is possible and lots of interesting things happen all the time. The film features plenty of new Afrikaans music written in the style of that era. In Afrikaans language with English subtitles. – Moviesite.co.za

I really liked seeing all the little details that they added. It was very interesting to see that they could make a movie in a set this small. I’ve never seen a movie set, so I guess I expected something a little bigger. Still it was a lot of fun going around and feel like you’re living in the 50’s.

When Nadia asked me to do this shoot, I actually never thought how much I would like to work with a pet, as I've never done it before. Nadia saved this very cute little fellow from a meat market in South Korea and I can see that he is her forever thankful.
There is something special about Sam and I couldn't get enough photos of them. I filled my memory card up so quickly and I forgot my other one at home (so unprofessional). I just had to go out and buy another one to get a few more photos of this beautiful friendship between Nadia and her cute pup, Sam.
