Busan International Fireworks Festival
7:58:00 PM
Busan International Fireworks Festival was the latest festival I visited. It was held at Gwangali Beach in Busan. I got there early to avoid getting trampled in the subways and also to get lunch before the long wait. According to some newspapers they expected 1 million people to attend this annual spectacular. So I had some time to kill and ended up enjoying a nice cup of cuppachino at the nearest coffee shop, overlooking the beach. This way I could keep an eye on when to head down and find a seat.
It was 4 PM when I went to find a seat. The show only started at 8PM, so a 4 hour wait was in the order of day. This is a time that you realise the value of a smartphone. It soon started to get dark and I could see my potential view. I made sure that I could find a seat right at the front. Unobstructed by a person trying to take a picture or walking around.
So here are my pictures of this event. There is just one word I could find to describe the fireworks and it’s “INDESCRIBABLE”. The picture gives you and idea of the size, but there is a lack of dimension that really made the experience even better. I hope that when you get a chance to visit South Korea in October, that you find yourself at this festival. It was really amazing.

As one of my friends told me, “Photo’s are there to remind yourself of the wonderful experience, cause it just isn’t the same as the real thing”. The one thought in my mind the entire time is that I wish my family and friends from South Africa could have been there with me.
If this experience has taught me one lesson, it’s that it’s really important who you share the experience with.
