Tan’ Malie se Winkel – is one of those places that you drive past many times and always wonder what’s going on, on the inside. Situated next to the Hartbeespoort dam wall, this little shop is full of history. When you walk in, you immediately get the feeling of being back in 1921 when the shop started. You’ll find all kinds of traditionally made canned food, homemade coffee cookies, jams and sweet from the olden days.The older generation, who can still remember some of these, will immediately feel nostalgic and remember the good old days.

On the other side of the shop, you will find a restaurant where you can sit and relax with a beautiful view of the countryside. You’ll also find a little museum, full of little appliances from way back when. I definitely recommend doing stopover at this little shop right next to the dam.
